Guilty Pleasures...
Okay, I admit that on some level my YA book research is merely an excuse to validate my guilty pleasures- such as watching teen dramady's... so, as Hillary Duff sings, "I'm coming clean."
First off, I do like her and especially this song (mainly because it is the opening music to one of my other guilty pleasures) but I also like to make fun of her. I don't know why that is, maybe she just asks for it. I feel the same way about Brittney- I mean I like her, and I love to make fun of her. Is that so wrong?
So some of my other compulsions of late:
Veronica Mars- Wow- love this show, love Veronica, love her hair.
Laguna Beach- Yep I get the fake reality TV show and the teen dramady all in one show! And a Hillary Duff song- who could resist? Oh, and that Stephen guy whose only line appears to be "we'll see" reminds me of a Rick Springfield in his prime (and now my age is showing like a thong in a pair of cheap low riders, but I don't care. He was hot, I was there, and it's true.)
Rock Star INXS- Oh man, love it. I love music, all kinds- Barry Manilow to Marilyn Manson. You heard me, Barry Manilow- hey, Mandy rocks and I don't care who you are, if you disagree, you're just lying. She came and she gave without taking, what do you want-people- her soul? But I really, really love good re-mixes and RS is proving to have a few of those- Like JD's California Dreamin' and Marty's Mr. Brighteyes (Can I just say, I loved the sarcastic way he sang the first refrain- classic!!). I even grooved on whatsherfaces "Losing my Religion". But most of all, I'm crushing on Dave Navarro. Can the guy be any nicer? Carmen is a lucky lady is all I'm saying.
Juicy Couture- Just bought a purse that I'm way too old to have, but damn it, I love it. It's got a tie dye scarf. What can I say? I love the little bizillion dollar tricks Prada has even though they are a rip off. Heck, I'm just one of those people who bought the Louis Vuitton purse because it had a little brass padlock on it. "It's cute" I think was my justification and I stand by it. Now Cloe has one with a big padlock that's a dime and five, ouch.
Orlando Bloom- Okay, so I'm a total Cougar for lusting after him, but if loving him is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Coldstone Cake Batter Ice Cream- (with sprinkles) I think after a certain age, you are expected to have the patience to wait until something is cooked before eating it. Oprah even claimed that if you eat batter than you have something wrong with you, but then again she promotes books where the people eat dirt, so ??
So, there you have it. That's how I roll.
