Progress

I've had a breakthrough in my YA WIP, and am now up to about 25K (MSWORD). I need to have this one finished for the GH in November. And so far on right on track. Yay!

I'm excited because I've made a critical rearrangement in events that made everything just 1000x better in the pacing and focus department. And the bonus being at approx page 45 (or in other words, just the right amount of pages for when it goes to the Golden Heart) is when the first big plot twist happens and everything is set in full force motion--talk about leaving them hanging, LOL. So, I'm very excited about that and just thought I'd share.

Something else I’ll share, Taco Bueno now has Cheesecake Chimichangas. Go. Buy. Now. Yummy.

Commercials

I watch As The World Turns on my lunch hour. I've noticed an abundance of really gross commercials lately. I realize it is a women's show and that I will get the usual parade of feminine products ads, but I think there needs to be a limit. And speaking of limit- um, Lamisil- How big is your ad budget. I see that horrid Digger the Dermatiphite (sp?) toe fungus commercial at least 4 times an hour. How many times does someone with a toe fungus need to be told about this product in this horrific manner??? Does toe fungus affect memory? And do you really need to be showing this ad while I'm trying to eat????

And while I'm ranting- what is up with that commercial with the creepy goldfish? And why does it have human teeth?

And what's up with that nasty yogurt that takes two weeks to clear up the digestive track? It has Biffidus Regularus? Um, yuck. And who else thinks Ovaltine sounds like something their grandmother takes?

Anyone else got a creepy commercial you want to rant about?

Hot-Lanta

Back from the Atlanta conference in one piece. But boy do I feel beat-up! I'm exhausted. Lots of late night gab fests and early morning workshops. And now I'm all motivated and focused and even setting some goals! Imagine that.

So now I'll be hard at work preparing submissions for agents, doing yet another rewrite on my finished YA (and I really think this will be the last major focus change--my characters must hate me), getting a Golden Heart entry finished. Maybe two.

So lots of stuff.

One thing I'm just coming to realize--Query letter blurbs excite me. Ok, I don't like to write them, I don't think I'm even that good at writing them, but something about reading my story so condensed and simplistic in all those enticing and intriguing words really gets me excited about my story again! And I was really getting tired of this story with all its rewrites. So I hope that means that an agent reading it will be even more excited.

Unfortunately, in addition to rewriting the query blurb, I also have to rewrite the synopsis. Not so fun.
